Carl’s Jr. and I assume Hardy’s as well, recently switched from Gold Peak brand instant iced tea made from a concentrate, to Gold Peak fresh brewed iced tea.  This is a huge improvement over the tea they used to serve.  When brewed well, this brand of tea has a really good taste.  Jack in the Box, and Blaze Pizza are two other well known chains that serve fresh brewed Gold Peak tea. The price is usually similar to other fast food restaurants, around $2.50 for a large.  And refills are self serve at most locations.
